anyways to let you guys know the forums are down, I will also be moving from ip.board to phpBB3 I do have a backup of the forum it’s just a matter of converting the board data, also I’ll put up a temporary forum on the blog using mingle forum plugin for wordpress until the board conversion be complete.

hey there folks, special thanks to José Pedro Arvela for making my layout dream a reality and also improving it dramatically too.

Anyways PChat 1.2 beta should be released shortly with some nice fixes especially to the gtk system, anyways look for it soon.

PChat 1.1 for Linux

Howdy all, PChat 1.1 has now been released on the Linux platform, compiled on Ubuntu 10.04 so it should work on all platforms both 32bit Ubuntu and 64bit Ubuntu, now I didn’t make a deb file just a tar.gz file of the compiled binary,

PChat win32 buld running in xubuntu via wine on my brother in laws netbook

What you are seeing is not a linux build of pchat but a win32 build of pchat running xubuntu running on a netbook with a custom kernel (2.6.34 from kernel.org) via wine 1.2 rc6, lets say wine is really coming along nicely, that being said and done, I still plan on making a linux build but with my system I am having some issues with some compile errors I’m trying to fix up and updating my project file so that when people check out the latest svn they can use 1 project file for making a win32/64 build via windows or a linux build for linux all via 1 Code::Blocks project file.

Anyways keep looking for a new release soon for the linux side of things

if you are seeing this post then you are saying the latest look for PChat revision I’m working on, since the gtk wimp theme is broken in GTK 2.20 for Windows I’ve choosen the glossy theme, also the tree icons have received a face lift too.

Also PChat is getting popular but it seems it’s getting popular enough that people are taking my posts without crediting myself (Zach Thibeau) so if you see this post on some other site without a link back to the original post or you don’t see a ping to the original article that says it’s been mirrored those guys are frauds trying to take other people’s work as their own.

the domain is now using wordpress all posts have been ported to wordpress and the theme is complete enough for everyday usage, registration is enabled and there is also access to the forum as well, please enjoy I know I will since we are no longer using subdreamer.

howdy all,

Just some important updates here, PChat’s tray plugin x-tray had some issues, it just would not read it’s settings properly and it wouldn’t load what it had saved, so I did some work, was finally able to get that little issue fixed. The fix was relatively simple, just compile it as a unicode application and load it up in PChat and did a few restarts after changning some settings in the x-tray settings panel and it is now finally saving and reading it’s settings file.

Also please note that soon I shall be moving pchat-irc.com to use the wordpress blogging platform, there are just so many issues right now with subdreamer that it’s better in the long run to use wordpress, I’ll keep all the data as much as I can and will be porting the theme to wordpress so everything while be changed a little bit will still look the same as well.
